No. The Grass Roots program is purchasing the specialized defensive sticks – a.k.a. “Long Poles”, the 6’x6’ nets, and field goalie equipment. Some players choose to wear soccer style cleats, but that is not a requirement. Players will otherwise wear all the same protective gear they wear in a box game.
